About KidStand

A story of passion, community, and one 8-year-old's dream

👦

Meet Hunter

KidStand was born from the imagination and determination of 8-year-old Hunter from Dallas, Texas. After running a lemonade stand a few times at his street corner, Hunter discovered something magical: the joy of connecting with his neighbors and the excitement of running his own little business.

But Hunter wanted more. He wanted to help other kids like himself experience that same joy. He noticed that sometimes neighbors would walk by without knowing his stand was there, and he thought, "What if there was a way for everyone to know when kids are running stands in the neighborhood?"

With the help of his family, Hunter's idea grew into KidStand - an app that empowers kids to share their stands with the community and helps neighbors discover and support young entrepreneurs right in their own neighborhoods.

"I wanted to make it easier for kids like me to run stands and for neighbors to find us. I hope KidStand helps lots of kids have fun and learn about running a business!"

— Hunter, Age 8, Dallas, Texas

What KidStand Is

A safe, modern take on the lemonade stand — where kids run real fundraising stands and parents stay in control.

KidStand is an app where kids create and run lemonade-stand-style fundraising stands. A kid dreams up what to sell, sets a money goal, adds a photo, and places the stand on a map. A parent then approves the stand and pays a small opening fee — or uses the family annual plan — to make it live.

Once live, the stand gets its own QR code. Neighbors and customers scan it and pay securely through Stripe, with no cash required. The kid watches their earnings and customer count grow in real time, while the parent manages the money and payouts to the family bank account. It's real entrepreneurship, with safety and oversight built in.

How It's Best Used

A simple flow that turns a stand into a learning moment

  1. Kid creates a stand — picks a product, a money goal, a photo, and a map location with a radius.
  2. Parent approves & pays — a small opening fee per stand, or the annual plan for unlimited stands.
  3. Stand goes live with a QR code — an open-duration timer counts down and auto-closes the stand.
  4. Customers pay — scan, choose an amount, add a tip, and pay securely with Stripe.
  5. Kid sees money earned & customers — live earnings and a friendly reflection on how it went.
  6. Parent manages payouts — earnings collect in a parent wallet and pay out to the bank.
