How map discovery works
Open stands appear on the KidStand map for people nearby. Discovery uses your device location to show stands within range. Signed-in users see stands within about half a mile; guests can browse a wider area.
Location privacy
KidStand never shows a stand's exact home address on the map. Stands appear as a rough area pin. This proximity gate helps neighbors find stands nearby while protecting kid and family privacy.
Nearby stand alerts
Parents and guests can enable push notifications for when a stand opens within about half a mile. Turn alerts on or off in Account settings.
Boost β tell the neighborhood
When a stand is live, kids and parents can use Boost to share that the stand is open β via text, social, or a shareable link. Boost helps neighbors who are not on the map yet discover the stand.
List your stand (spotted stands)
Anyone can pin an unclaimed stand on the map at kidstand.app/list-your-stand β for example, if you spotted a lemonade stand in your neighborhood and want to help others find it. A parent can later claim the stand in the app to connect it to their kid's account.
Neighborhood stats
KidStand shows aggregate neighborhood activity β like how many stands ran in your area this week. These stats celebrate community participation without exposing individual families' details.
Demand insights
For families who run stands regularly, KidStand offers demand insights β a heatmap of busy times in your area to help plan when to go live.
