How customer payments work
When a neighbor scans a stand's QR code and pays, the charge is processed securely through Stripe. Payments go to KidStand's platform account and are tagged to the stand, session, and your household. Money does not go directly to your kid β it collects in your parent-managed wallet.
- In-app β customers tap Pay on a stand and use Apple Pay or a card.
- Web checkout β scanning the QR code opens kidstand.app/checkout/[standId] for card payment.
- Tips β customers can add an optional tip on top of their payment.
The parent wallet
Your wallet shows the household balance β the sum of earnings from all stands under your account. You will see Available to Withdraw (ready for payout), pending amounts, and any holds. The kid's live stand screen shows that stand's session earnings separately (Money earned and Customers).
Enable payments (Stripe Connect)
Before you can receive customer payments or request payouts, complete Stripe Connect onboarding. In the app, go to Wallet or Account and tap Enable Payments. You will verify your identity and link a bank account through Stripe's secure flow.
Request a payout
- Open Wallet in the parent view.
- Review your Available to Withdraw balance.
- Tap Request Payout (minimum $10).
- Funds are sent to your linked bank account through Stripe. Timing depends on your bank β typically a few business days.
Why Stripe Connect dashboard may show $0
This is expected. Buyer payments are charged to KidStand's platform Stripe account first. Your in-app wallet reflects the household balance in KidStand. The Stripe Connect dashboard only shows money that has been transferred to your Connect account after you request a payout. Until your first payout, Connect may show $0 even though your app wallet has a balance.
Go Live fees vs customer payments
These are separate. Go Live ($1.99 per stand) and the annual family plan ($24.99/year) are in-app purchases paid by the parent to unlock stands. Customer payments are what neighbors pay when they buy from a stand β those go to your family wallet.
